This gorgeous Winter Park engagement session was a little different for me. A little different because Laura (the bride to be) is a childhood friend of mine whom I have known forever! Most of my wedding clients are amazing people that become my friends throughout the whole process, but this is the first time I will be shooting a wedding FOR a friend! It’s both exciting and a little intimidating. One of the reasons I include an engagement session with my wedding photography is that I think it’s important for my clients and I to establish and natural and fun rapport with each other before the wedding. With Laura & Brice, that rapport was already there, so it was a really fun and laid back shoot that ended with a celebratory toast of Prosecco! There was lots of laughing — guys can sometimes be a little camera-shy initially, but I think I won Brice over with my witty sense of humor. And I love the way Laura’s nose crinkles up whenever Brice makes her laugh!! I couldn’t help but get a little sentimental when I was going through their photos, thinking back to the 3rd grade when Laura and I use to sit around talking about boys we had crushes on and meeting up halfway between our houses every year at Christmas to go check out each others loot. And now, here we are, planning her wedding. Super cool. I’m so incredibly honored that I get to capture such an amazing time for their families.
