A few weeks ago, I got to spend a lovely afternoon with this even lovelier couple! Amanda and Brett are completely adorable together and I had so much fun with them at their engagement session. I absolutely love a couple with a sense of adventure, and these two did not disappoint me! We spent part of the afternoon climbing fences, sneaking into a garden, getting *in* a stream and watching bunnies. All very exciting stuff for this girl and her camera. I am notoriously camera shy and so I can completely empathize with clients who may feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Amanda and Brett’s session is a perfect example of the amazing images you can get if you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone a little, relax and have fun at your session! I mean seriously – how gorgeous are they?! I am beyond excited to be shooting their wedding next spring and can’t wait to see these two again!
Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you are enjoying this season with your friends and loved ones! I think this blog could use some holiday cheer, so today I introduce you to Liz & Justin. They love Disney, and I love Disney, so what better place for their engagement session than The Happiest Place on Earth? Liz is super creative and crafty (seriously – wait until you see her wedding in January…I can say without a doubt it will be epic) and is always full of ideas and inspiration. Let’s just say I check her Pinterest page daily! I’ll keep her wedding theme under wraps for now, but will say that she and Justin wanted to incorporate some woodsy wonderland ishness into their session, along with a few holiday touches (real mistletoe!) so we started the day off at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground before heading over to Disney Boardwalk for the rest of their session. I had so much fun with these two, I think we must have laughed pretty much the whole day. Between my crazy grandma driving/parking skillz and dashing in and out of shelter to shoot between downpours of rain and avoid cupcake meltdowns, it was nothing short of an adventure! I love these images of Liz & Justin and this was probably one of my favorite engagement sessions, because not only does it capture the fun and funny side of this Disney-loving duo, but you can actually see the love they have for each other, they simply sparkle with it.
Get ready for one of the cutest engagement sessions, ever. I am so excited to introduce you to Amber and Tyler. When Amber first contacted me about her engagement session, it was clear that she had some fabulous ideas in mind and it was so much fun working together with her and Tyler to bring their vision to life. We emailed back and forth with lots of “!!!!” and “:-)” as we excitedly planned and schemed, rescheduled once due to rain, and finally got together for their session. Engagement sessions are really such a wonderful way for a couple to spend an afternoon together (plus me, of course) and have fun in a really laid back environment, while getting to know and feel comfortable with their photographer and capture a more playful, less serious side of their relationship. Amber and Tyler are both Auburn alumni (I did inform them that my family’s blood runs Crimson, which thankfully they didn’t hold against me!) and so we incorporated that fact, as well as a few other little country touches into their vintage-rustic styled session. If you know me, or have followed my blog for any amount of time, you know I LOVE styled shoots. However, as with most things in life, I try to follow the “less is more” philosophy and not go too overboard with props, etc. I love that this session incorporates special touches that are meaningful to Amber and Tyler, but keeps the main focus (no pun intended) on this sweet couple and their relationship. Being in love truly is the best accessory there is! We also had the pleasure of having my friends Alex and Sammantha from Imprint Cinema there to capture some of Amber and Tyler’s engagement session, as well as some behind the scenes moments. You can view a mini-film of their session on the Imprint Cinema blog: http://imprintcinema.com/blog/, as well as some more of Alex and Samm’s amazing work! I just love their style so much, and am always amazed at how perfectly their films compliment still photography. Congratulations to Amber and Tyler, and best wishes for many happy months of engaged bliss!
