Belly Session (Central Florida Family Photographer)

You might recognize this hot mama from a trash the dress session she did with me last year!  Can you believe she’s preggo with #3?!  I wish I could look that amazing the next time around.  This family seriously just oozes style and adorable-ness.   I have been dying to do a belly session (I don’t do many anymore) and knew Megan would be a gorgeous model.    My good friend and fellow photographer Carly came along with me and from the minute we walked in their house, we were oohhing and ahhhing over how cute it was!  We were grabbing pillows and anything else we could spot to use in the shoot.    They took us to this little spot near their house that was so cool!  There were ducks and a little spring, so fun!  And the light, oh the light, the heavens were shining down upon us that afternoon.   My little golden chair came along for the ride too 🙂  I seriously love that chair so much (thanks Krystal!) that it’s recently become a permanent fixture in my living room, though I will of course continue to use it at sessions too!   I’m so excited for this cute little family to add another branch to their family tree, can’t wait to see and hopefully photograph their next beautiful little baby!  PS: Megan’s cute pink dress is from LuLu Belle Baby Boutique in Baldwin Park.

CeFloFePho’s Spring Retreat

I know you’re probably saying to yourself “CeFl…..what?”  Remember?  A while back I posted about the awesometastic group I started for female photographers in Central Florida?  Well we had our second official retreat last weekend in Siesta Key, FL and it was nothing short of amazing.   Our first retreat was such a freezing huge success that I was a little worried about living up to those expectations for the next one.  But, the beach was so gorgeous, the weather so sublime….I don’t think anyone of us would have minded if we “accidentally” left our camera back at the hotel 🙂  Though we did manage to squeeze in some beach/pool/major fun time, the weekend was also packed full of fabulous photoshoots.   We shot 3 sessions all together – a family session Saturday morning, 2 bridal/trash-the-dress sessions Saturday evening and a super hot and sexy model couple Sunday afternoon.  We had so much fun and oh my gosh were all of our models awesome!  In addition to being  in a tropical paradise and shooting  just-for-fun-and-not-because-we-have-to sessions, we also built and strengthened some amazing friendships.  In an industry that often is rife with competitiveness, secrecy, exclusivity, greed,  pride and fakeness (don’t get me started) it is so refreshing to be part of a group that is open and honest, willing to share, build each other up and inspire one another.   OK, enough of my mushy jibber jabber…..since I have so many images to share from the retreat, I’m going to break them up into 3 different posts so as not to overwhelm you with the beauty of it all (ha ha)  So, here are a few of my favorite images from our family session on Saturday morning.  This family of 3 girls (2 were twins!) were sooooo sweet and the girls were so good.    We easily shot for about 4 hours and I don’t think I heard them complain once.  And little Bella….well she’s a natural born top-model, she’s even perfected her smize (or is it smeyes?) at the ripe old age of 5. Enjoy and I’ll be back tomorrow to post some amazing shots from our Trash the Dress sessions on the beach!

had to get a few of mom and dad in there too 🙂

The beach was crazy bright and crowded, so we headed over to Siesta Key Village for a few more shots:This one kinda kills me.  I mean,  really – look at those faces!

CeFloFePhos Retreat – St. Augustine, FL

Several months ago, while on a trip to the Nation’s oldest City with my son’s 4th grade class, I was thinking about how amazing it would be to host a girl’s getaway weekend with other young, professional, female photographers like myself.  What started as a spark grew and grew into a really unique small group of women with the same interest in creating this experience.   Last weekend, this little dream finally became a reality.  Myself and seven other  photographers spent an intensely fun and creative weekend in St. Augustine, FL.  Even in my wildest dreams, I never, ever thought it would be so successful.  We kicked off the weekend with a “getting to know each other” dinner and instantly it felt like we were all old friends. We stayed up until past 1:00 am both nights just chatting and being silly, I cannot remember the last time I laughed so long and hard! Of course this happened the be THE coldest weekend (30 year record lows, people!) it was FREEEEEZING! Saturday, we braved the arctic FL weather and met up with 2 couples at the beautiful Castillo De San Marcos – Jennifer and Rashad, and their good friends Angela and Kyle. After warming up and grabbing a quick lunch, we spent the next few hours photographing 3 gorgeous brides – Lexa, Katie and Eva (I cannot thank them enough for braving the cold – in wedding dresses – as part of our “vision”) When that wrapped up, we met up with Cassie and Marina aka Luna and Soleil, two fabulous fashionistas, for some glam photos in the streets of downtown St. Augustine. Sunday, our focus was on children and families – we had 2 precious babies in the morning, and a cute little family of three that afternoon. The weekend was so amazing, I am still giddy over how much fun we had, the relationships we forged, the awesome images we captured and the memories that will definitely last us until our next retreat, this SPRING! Our “little” group of 8 has blossomed into a diverse, lovely group of over 30 female photographers from all over Florida! I cannot wait to get to know all of these ladies and I am SO excited to see what’s in store for our circle. Speaking of which, we are in the process of renaming our group, as we are no longer limited to just Central FL, so if you have any suggestions – I’d love to hear them!

XOXO – Sarah

Here are some of my favorite images from the retreat so far (I’m sure I’ll post more as I process them) plus a few fun “behind the scenes” shots of the girlies!
