On maternity leave! Or whatever you call it when you’re self-employed 🙂 I just wrapped up my last session yesterday and have nothing on the books until August, which is a crazy feeling (and I already miss weddings!) but I’m looking forward to spending a long, lazy summer relaxing with my boys and their baby sister. I can’t believe my due date is just 2 weeks away …. this has been the fastest, easiest pregnancy ever. Baby Girl shot a total of nine weddings and close to 30 sessions with me during this pregnancy, what a trooper! I truly cannot wait to meet her, I feel like I have such a connection with her already, which is an incredible feeling. And I’m so excited to experience all of the new and wonderful things about having a daughter.
I have a small back-log of sessions to blog while I’m taking a break, so hopefully it won’t be TOO quiet around these parts over the summer. In the meantime, here are a couple of maternity photos taken of me and my girl by my very talented and beautiful friend, Jessica of Jess Regan Photography:
I know I haven’t come right out and announced here on the blog that I’m expecting Baby no. 3, but indeed I am! We are so excited and can’t wait to meet our new little sweet one in June. So, along with the “official” announcement of our happy news, I thought I’d write up a quick post about my availability over the next several months. I am pretty much fully booked for weddings in 2012 and will not be taking on any new weddings other than for October and December. I am however, booking now for early 2013 (Jan-March). I will continue booking boudoir and portrait sessions as normal, but will be on maternity leave from June 1st-September 1st. I’m finding it takes a great deal of planning and patience to run a full-time business while also being mom to (almost) 3 kiddos, which is why I’ll be implementing a lot of changes this year. For starters, I’ve recently opened a gorgeous, boutique natural-light studio in Thornton Park and will be mostly running my office from there going forward. I’ll write another post all about that in the very near future. I’ll just say for now that I absolutely love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else, and I want to continue to offer only the best to my clients! 2012 has been an incredible year to me so far, and it’s just started….excited to see what lies ahead! And finally, a fun little photo. We have 2 boys already, 12 and 4, and found out yesterday, we are expecting a ……..
We (I) couldn’t be more thrilled! After living in a sea of testosterone for the last 12 years (we also have 2 very large, male dogs) I can’t wait to see how a little girl changes our family dynamics. I’m sure she won’t be spoiled at all 😉 Oh, and any name suggestions – bring em on!
I am soooo happy to finally be sharing some of my favorite images from Laura and Brice’s wedding last month! Laura is a childhood friend of mine and so it was an absolute honor and privilege to be there for her on her wedding day. This was the first and only wedding I’ve ever shot for a friend, so it was very special and she’s going to get a humungo giant sneak peek for being so patient with me 🙂 Their venue, the Knowles Memorial Chapel at Rollins College, also has sentimental meaning to me, as that’s where I got married almost seven years ago! Laura’s family is from Shreveport, LA and while the logistics weren’t in place for a wedding in Louisiana, there was certainly no shortage of Southern charm and attention to detail. Her colors were ivory and green, with touches of charcoal gray and light pink – a perfect palette for a perfect day. Maybe it was because Laura looked SO gorgeous, or maybe it was because I was surrounded by friends and family (including mine!), but in my memory, everything about that day just glowed in springtime-y splendor! After the ceremony, the entire wedding party, guests and all, walked in a processional from the chapel to the Winter Park Woman’s Club for the reception. After being introduced and toasting to their parents, Laura, Brice and all of their guests ate, drank and danced the night away. PS – the food was amazing; catered by Dexter’s in Winter Park (with a special Smoked Salmon addition provided by my very own Daddy!) There’s so much more I could say about this wedding, but for now, I’ll just share the images with you all. I know that this was such a wonderful and happy day for both families. Laura and Brice – I wish you so much love and happiness in your life together! xoxoxo
My second shooter, Carly, was actually IN the wedding! BIG thanks to the lovely and talented Rana for stepping in and doing an awesome job!
